- Region 1 and Region 8 EU Type III Helicopter The intent of this solicitation and any resultant contract(s) is to obtain services of Type III helicopter services fully operated by qualified personnel and equipped to meet specifications for use in administration and protection of Public Lands, primarily for use in the management of National Forests in the Northern Rockies Region on an Exclusive Use basis. Designated bases are Copper Hill, TN in Region 8, and Lolo, MT in Region 1. This will be a combined solicitation. Helicopters may be dispatched to other areas throughout the United States. During the Mandatory Performance Period(s) and any extensions thereof, the aircraft will be made available within the timeframe required in the schedule of items. The Government shall retain operational control of the aircraft while performing under this contract. The Type III helicopters furnished will be used for aerial firefighting support delivering water, cargo and transporting passengers as needed. Project work may include occasional miscellaneous resource projects directly related with fire rehabilitation work and other resource work such as log placement in streams, fertilizer spreading, etc. Law enforcement and administrative flights may occasionally be requested. This solicitation will be advertised as a total small business set aside. The contract period of performance will be for one base year with three renewable option periods.
