- Responses to Questions The White River National Forest anticipates awarding a firm-fixed price Bridge Construction contract to perform the following scope of work: The work shall consist of what is shown on the plans, stated in the specifications, and summarized below: •Establish traffic control and detour. •Remove the existing bridge. •Excavate for the abutments. •Construct the abutments. •Construct the stream channel between abutments (step removal, grading and riprap). •Construct the timber superstructure. •Construct the approaches to the structure (embankment). •Install signs. •Seeding work. Root Contracting Officer White River National Forest 900 Grand Ave Glenwood Springs, CO 81601 Email Proposals Send To: lroot@fs.fed.us Subject: Proposal 1282D718R0006 Coffee Pot Bridge Project Project Location: Eagle-Holy Cross Ranger Disctrict White River National Forest Coffee Pot Road (NFR 600) Near Deep Lake The Coffee Pot #2 bridge is located approximately 15 miles north of Glenwood Springs, Colorado, although the drive from there to the site is about 48 miles. Directions: Exit 133 off I-70 at Dotsero Travel North on Colorado River Rd (301) for 1.8 miles Turn left on Coffee Pot Rd (NFR 600) for 29 miles Turn left at Sign for "Day Use Area/Budges Resort" Just past Deep Lake in the White River National Forest Description: The Contractor shall furnish the necessary personnel, materials, equipment, services and facilities. Project includes, but is not limited to, removing and disposing of the existing bridge, excavate for the abutments, construct new abutments, construct the stream channel between abutments (Step removal, grading and riprap), construct the timber superstructure, construct the approaches to the structure (embankment), install signs and seeding work to match design plans and all other incidental items necessary to complete the work according to the contract. All construction must comply with wilderness rules and restrictions. Traditional tools will be used as much as possible; however some motorized tools and mechanical transport will be allowed. Motorized tools and mechanical transport will be restricted to the uses approved in the minimum requirements decision guide (MRDG) and minimized in the project. Set-aside: This procurement is being set-aside 100% for small business. Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 237310 Highway, Street and Bridge Construction and the small business size standard is $36.5 million, set-aside 100% for small business. The magnitude of the contract is between $200,000.00 and $250,000.000 Pre-Bid Proposal Conference: Date: August 7, 2018 Time: 10:00 a.m. (Mountain Time) Location: Meet onsite at Coffee Pot Bridge #2 Note: Alternatively, the Forest Service will be at the dirt lot north of the traffic circle on the Colorado River Road in Dotsero (I-70 exit 133) at 8:30am prior to driving to the project site for those wishing to caravan.
