Description
The government intends to extend the IFSP contact (HM0177-13-C-0003)for a period of six month. The portion of the contract to be extended is the Research Labs (RL) system Administration and the Security Engineering that provides the necessary IT operational, sustainment, security engineering and engineering support services and resources to enable NGA’s RLs to achieve its dynamic mission objectives. In order for us to maintain the accreditation and operational capabilities of lab, we cannot have a break in service and that is why we request the incumbent continue to provide service do to their familiarity with the RL. Failure to maintain these capabilities would result in a near complete shutdown of all RL services and deny access to Research data, software, compute, algorithms, demonstration and visualization. We would be unable to address systems patches timely, which would lead to a lab shut down due to not being complaint with our security plan. Failure to maintain the security engineering staff would result in non-compliance of most Research IT systems, resulting in the mandatory shutdown of RLE servers, storage, and workstations, making them unavailable to support the Research and NGA missions. If a break in service would occur, it would result in at 6 to 9 month delay in getting the Research Lab back up in running because we would have to re-accredit the item. This portion of work is currently being re-competed.
