- Plans Specification The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District Office requires a dredging contract for the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway (GIWW), Texas, Corpus Christi to Port Isabel and the Channel to Harlingen in Nueces, Kleberg, Kenedy, Willacy and Cameron Counties, Texas, Pipeline Dredging. Project Information: The work consists of Schedule No. 1 - GIWW, pipeline maintenance dredging of approximately 1,283,203 cubic yards (CY) between Corpus Christi Bay and Port Isabel, Texas. The Laguna Madre is closed to dredging (sea grass environmental window) between 1 Mar through 31 Oct. Channel to Harlingen, Pipeline maintenance dredging of approximately 714,445 cubic yards. Replace outfall structure at PA 2. Requires barge access. - Replace welded steel outfall pipe at PA 11. Replace welded steel outfall pipe at PA 16. Completion time for Schedule No. 1 is 200 calendar days. All dredging work will be performed by cutter-head suction pipeline dredge. The contractor is required to remove approximately 15K CY per day. If the contractor fails to complete the work within the time specified, the contractor shall pay liquidated damages to the Government in the amount of $3,369.00 for each calendar day of delay until the work is completed or accepted. The contractor will be required to provide Performance and Payment Bonds within (5) calendar days after award. The contractor shall begin work within (10) calendar days after acknowledgement of the notice to Proceed. Order of work- The contractor may proceed with the work in any order, as long as the dredging constraints of the GIWW sea-grass window are adhered to. Dredging only allowed during period of 1 Nov through 28 Feb. The Solicitation issued will be Firm Fixed Price. The magnitude of this project is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. The solicitation is advertised as "Unrestricted" full and open competition for both large and small businesses. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code applicable to this project is 237990. The Small Business Size Standard is $27.5 Million. The solicitation will be issued on or about 10 Aug 2018. Response date is 10 Sep 2018 @ 3:00 PM (All bids must be submitted electronically via AMRDEC Safe). The estimated award date for this project is September 2018.
