- Brand name justification The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award a Brand name requirement, firm fixed price purchase order to Scinomix for the Sci-Print VX2 system. The Scinomix Sci-Print VX2 is a small versatile footprint multifunction vial handing instrument that primarily functions as robotic vial labeler-liquid dispenser-capper-decapper. It is the Government's belief that the Scinomix Sci-Print VX2 is the only responsible source that is able to satisfy the agency requirement. The Sci-Print is the smallest instrument that can perform the functions of labeler-liquid dispenser-capper-decapper. The Sci-Print VX2 has a smaller footprint which is required due to the limited lab space that is available. The gripping function of the Sci-Print VX2 occurs in a manner that is independent of the type or size of vial being used. The Sci-Print VX2 grips from the outside of the vial/tube, hindering the chance of cross contamination between samples. The Sci-Print VX2 can accommodate up to 6 racks of tubes even with its small foot print. It is built to be compact and take up the least amount of space, but it holds it owns in comparison to similar instruments of the same type but larger in size. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. Firms that believe they can provide this requirement are encouraged to identify themselves and provide written notification, as well as, a capability statement to the contracting office by 12:00 pm, Aug 17, 2018. Respondents will not be notified of the evaluation results. Responses by Facsimile (Fax) will not be accepted. IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS: This procurement action will be processed under the authority of FAR 6.320-1 and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a) (1). Only one responsible source (Scinomix) and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The NAICS Code is 334516 (Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing). Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. All vendors must be registered with System for Award Management (www.sam.gov) under the above NACIS code prior to award date. Any responses must be emailed to the attention of the contracting specialist: Marilyn Reynolds at mpr3@cdc.gov by COB Friday, August 17, 2018 by 12noon est, with email subject line stating "NOI 75D301-18-Q-69246 Sci-Print VX2."
