Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Network Contracting Office (NCO) 23 intends to solicit and negotiate a sole source, firm fixed priced purchase order, under Simplified Acquisition Procedures under authority of FAR Part 13.106-1 (b)(1)(i), One Source Reasonably Available, to the University of Iowa for services in support of the specified aims of the Iowa City VA Health Care System, Iowa City Project Study# BX003644, Principal Investigator Munir Tanas. NAICS Code 611310 with a size standard of $27.5 million will be utilized. The proximity of the University of Iowa and strong collaboration with the VA investigators is integral to the success of this project study. The University of Iowa, Department of Pathology, will provide services in support of research for project, "Upstream regulation of TAZ and YAP in sarcomas: towards combinatorial therapy targeting the Hippo Pathway", as specified in the PWS and specific aims of Dr. Munir Tanas grant Project# BX003644. These services include: test the hypothesis that loss of expression of the Hippo kinases is a common mechanism by which TAZ/YAP are activated to drive sarcomagenesis and test the hypothesis that the PI3 kinase pathway activates TAZ/YAP to drive sarcomagenesis. Period of Performance: 10/1/2018 9/30/2019. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. It is not a solicitation or request for offers. No solicitation package is available and no award will be made based on offerors responses to this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for market research and information on whether to conduct a competitive procurement in future project study services awarded in support of grant recipients.
