- IMPORTANT INFORMATION: This is a Sources Sought announcement for market research purposes only. The information gained will be used to determine potential qualified contractors, preliminary planning, possibly set-side, and the method of acquisition. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT FOR PROPOSALS, QUOTATIONS OR BIDS. Therefore no contract will be awarded from this announcement. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement or any follow-up information requests. This notice is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government for any purpose other than market research. REQUIREMENT: This requirement is for the replacement of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Batteries at the Capital Region Readiness Center (CRRC) in Martinsburg, WV. Specifically, the requirement will be for: 646 Valve-Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA) batteries to replace the 160 batteries in four (4) modules and to allow for 6 spare batteries to be held in reserve on the charger. The contractor shall furnish, stage, install, and test replacement VRLA batteries appropriate to the application and compatible with existing building systems. Replacement Valve-Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA) batteries will be model # 12HX680F-FR, or direct replacement with same physical footprint and similar salient characteristics Respondent should note whether they can provide a battery that meets the VA s need or whether there is a similar battery that will also meet the needs.. Battery duration shall be rated in the range of 12-15 minutes. Transportation and safe handling of batteries to the CRRC. Installation of new batteries, utilizing existing battery racks, recording of baseline voltage, impedance, and temperature readings for battery monitoring. Restoration of connections to the building management system and verify proper operation upon completion of installation. Removal of legacy equipment no longer in use for this purpose. Safe removal of the existing batteries for certified disposal. Certificates of proper battery disposal approximately 2 weeks after job completion. CAPABILITY STATEMENTS: Interested parties, small or large organizations, should submit capability statements for this request via email to micah.kauzlarich@va.gov. by Monday, 27 August at 11am Eastern Standard Time. Information to be provided SHALL include, but not limited to the following: Contractors information: Provide your firms contact information, such as, name and address of firm, phone number and e-mail address; Type of Business: whether Small, Small Disadvantaged, or Large. Experience: Provide the number of years in business. Price: Standard battery price and hourly rate for technicians. Any other applicable pricing information may also be provided NOTE: For the Contracting Officer to decide that a set-aside can perused, pricing information must be provided. Without this, the Contracting Office make a determination pricing can be received at a fair and reasonable price for social economic concerns.. Existing Contracting Vehicles: If the respondent has a GSA FSS contract or another applicable contract, indicate so.
