Description
The manufacturer is GE Inspection Technologies. To maintain the required x-ray machine certifications, the unit is only authorized to be serviced by the manufacturer. The unit is required to perform radiographic inspections of T-38 aircraft to detect internal flaws in wing structures as required by Technical Order 1T-38C-36. This requirement is for semi-annual maintenance on the Digital X-Ray Machine used for detecting cracks and other irregularities on aircraft. This service has been a recurring service for preventative maintenance services for the past 7 years. The previous acquisition for this requirement was a sole source requirement and was solicited directly to GE. The NAICS code 811219 and FSC code J066 were used for this contract.
