- Document Destruction Questions and Answers 8/21/18 The purpose of this amendment is to provide answers to question by interested Vendors. Please see below. The closing date will not be extended and closes August 23, 2018 at 10:00 am, EST. No more questions shall be accepted after this posting. Question 1: - Is there a current contract for this service? If there is a contract in place, who is the current incumbent how much was the award amount? Are there any changes to the scope of work for this solicitation from the current contract? Answer 1: No, None, No Question 2: Would the Limitations on Subcontracting allow us (SDVOSB) to sub out the remaining contract dollars to a large business? Answer 2: SDVOSB may subcontract to a large business. The SDVOSB will not pay more than 50% of the amount paid by the government to it to firms that are not similarly situated per 13 CFR 125.6 on the contract. Question 3: How large do the consoles have to be? Answer 3: The dimensions on almost all our containers are 36" H x 21.5" W x 16" D. However, replacement containers only have to be around that size, not an exact match. We have about 6 slim consoles in tight areas that are have considerably less width (not sure of exact dimensions). Most of the consoles are the property of Veterans Affairs but about 6 or so are the property of the current contractor. I am not sure if the current contractor will remove their shredding consoles upon departure but we have to prepare for that possibility. In any event, we will need new consoles from time-to-time to replace an occasional console that becomes damaged. Question 4: Are the 95 gallon totes are property of Veterans Affair? Will contractor will not have to provide 95-gallon totes? Answer 4: The 95-gallon bins (10-12) we have are about a 50/50 mix with some of them belonging to the current shredding company and some of them are property of Veterans Affairs. As it is assumed that the current shredding company will take their 95-gallon bins with them, the new vendor will need to supply about 6-10 new bins for use at our facility.
