- Draft Statement of Work Sources Sought Synopsis with Contractor Capability Survey SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS NSN: 1270-01-560-0571AY, A-10 Upgraded Head Up Display (UHUD) Production Build and Repair PURPOSE/DESCRIPTION Market research is being conducted to identify potential sources that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to develop repair capability for the A-10 Upgraded Head Up Display (UHUD), NSN: 1270-01-560-0571AY. The contractor shall correct deficiencies in the current technical data package, convert incomplete production kits to serviceable assets, and repair unserviceable assets. This effort is planned to be a one year basic with four option years that is expected to award in 1 st quarter of FY19. The UHUD is an element of the A/OA-10 navigational system and is considered a subset of the A-10A Inertial Navigation System's (INS), which interfaces to the Integrated Fire and Flight Control Computer (IFFCC) and UHUD Control Panel. The UHUD is a data display subsystem which receives power and signal inputs from aircraft subsystems. The UHUD provides the pilot with a visual display of weapon delivery and target information in both day and night operations. In addition, the UHUD also provides real-time simplified visual aids for normal flight operations. The UHUD displays flight information to the pilot by projecting an image from the Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) onto the Combiner Assembly which is positioned in front of the pilot. This allows the pilot to maintain a forward-looking field of view through the Combiner Assembly. The projected image is focused at optical infinity so that the pilot does not have to refocus when viewing the image or the aircraft's surrounding environment. In the event of an electronics failure, the UHUD Projection Unit (PU) includes an electrically generated depressible standby aiming reticle to serve as a backup or emergency mode of operation. The Technical Orders (TOs) 17F47-13-7-3-1 will be utilized while performing production build and repair. These procedures are required to guide Air Force technicians through the successful p roduction build and repair of an unserviceable asset while utilizing the UHUD Test Systems Part Numbers: 201326926-10. See attached Sources Sought Synopsis with Contractor Capability Survey and Draft Statement of Work for additional information.
