- Sole Source Intent: The United States Army Mission and Installation Contracting Command - Yuma Proving Ground (MICC-YPG), U.S. Army Yuma Proving Ground (USAYPG), Yuma, Arizona, intends to negotiate a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract on a sole source basis with MISTRAS in support of an upgraded new system operating on windows 10.0 with MISTRAS newest version system software to provide a high-speed industrial scanner designed to detect cracks and other flaws in cylindrical items, such as mortar cannon tubes. The new upgrade system will improve data acquisition that allow scanner performance more fully automated, using a motion control system to position and scan test items. The U.S. Army Yuma Proving Ground (USAYPG) currently has MISTRAS equipment and the same manufacturer is required to maintain compatibility with existing equipment/software. Award of this requirement will be in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12. The North American Industry Classification system (NAICS) Code is 334519 with a standard size of 500 employees. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
