Description
Washington River Protection Solutions, LLC (WRPS,) a DOE prime contractor at the Hanford Site is interested in surveying the marketplace to identify interested sources for the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant (WTP) Low Activity Waste (LAW) melter bubbler assemblies. The scope of work includes the procurement of materials, fabrication, testing, storage and packaging for shipment of 144 LAW Melter Bubbler Assemblies in LOTs of 36 (each). The Hanford Tank Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant (WTP) is a complex of radioactive waste treatment processing facilities designed and constructed for the Department of Energy (DOE). The facility will process the Hanford Site tank waste and put the waste into a stable glass form. The processed waste will be shipped to federal repositories for permanent storage. The Project site is located at 200 East Area of the Hanford Site near Richland, Washington, along the Columbia River. The site elevation varies from 662 to 684 feet above mean sea level. Sand and silt exist as surface materials. Ambient temperature is (‐) 23 degrees F minimum to 113 degrees F maximum, with relative humidity of 5% minimum to 100% maximum. The project design life is 40 years. A gas bubbler device provides enhanced recirculation of molten glass within a glass melter apparatus. The purpose of the bubbler is to increase the overall production rate of the glass melter. The bubbler device includes a tube member disposed within a pool of molten glass contained in the melter. The tube member includes a lower opening through which low pressure gas (air) is disposed through the tube member and extends longitudinally. A gas bubble distribution device, which is located adjacent to the lower end of the tube member and is connected to the lower end of the tube, releases gas through openings therein so as to produce gas bubbles of a desired size in the molten glass and in a distributed pattern across the tube member. (SEE EXHIBIT 1) for general configuration.
