- Description
- NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTATION. This is a notice of intent to award a sole source contract out-of-scope modification under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106(b) Soliciting from a Single Source. The reference contract is VA261-17-P-2400, for certified Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (Ultrasound) with subspecialty in Abdomen, Pelvis, and small parts. Network Contracting Office (NCO 21) plans on negotiating a contract extension with the incumbent contractor, Anders Group, LLC, from September 1, 2018 through November 30, 2018, to allow a transition period for medical staffing for the new contract starting September 1, 2018. (An FBO award notice posting of the new contract will be posted August 31, 2018, for contract 36C26118D0094.) Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit a quote. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, all quotes received by the appointed due date will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this extension of services is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The justification for the sole source requirement is as follows: this is a medical staffing requirement and services are required beyond the initial period of performance to allow a transition period from one contractor to another contractor, which will avoid any disruption in service and allow applicable human resourcing activities to occur during that time. As a medical staffing requirement, background checks, credentialing, and VA-specific Rules of Behavior training are required prior to any contracted medical staff providing service. It may take between 2-3 months for these processes to occur. To allow a proper transition from one contractor to another, the current contract is being extended so that the medical staff affected have time to decide if they wish to continue performance with the new contractor or not. The anticipated award date for the new contract is August 31, 2018, and an award notice will be posted accordingly on www.fbo.gov. If interested, address responses to Felicia A. DeMita, at Felicia.demita@va.gov.
