Description

Pre-Solicitation Notice for notice of intent to award a sole source contract. This is not a solicitation. The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to negotiate a sole source contract for a 12 month base and (4) annual option years with Tufts Medical Center, 800 Washington St., Boston, MA 02111 to obtain specialized Eye Pathology Laboratory Consultative Testing Services for the VA Boston Healthcare System and other VISN1 VA Medical Centers located throughout New England on an as needed basis. Due to the affiliate relationship with VA Boston as well as their specialized expertise in this area, Tufts Medical Center is the only vendor that can provide the eye pathology consultative testing services. Since the intent is to procure this on a sole source basis, no solicitation will be posted to FedBizOps (FBO). A Sources Sought Notice published to FBO on 5/17/2018 under #36C24118Q0362, returned no results other than from the incumbent, Tufts Medical Center. The applicable NAICS code is 621511. The FSC/PSC is Q301. The authority for this action is FAR 6.302.1-1 Only One Responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The determination to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer.
