Description
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is the nation's foremost federally funded biomedical research institution. It is comprised of twenty-seven Institutes, Centers and Divisions. The Warren G. Magnuson Clinical Center is the on-site 267-bed hospital for the NIH campus comprised of clinical, laboratory and administrative staff who support the Institutes as they conduct clinical research working with inpatients and outpatients participating in research studies at the NIH. The National Institutes of Health (NIH), Clinical Center (CC), Department of Perioperative Medicine Section (DPM) has a need to approve the purchase of a rapid infusion device. The Belmont Rapid Infuser RI-2 is needed to assist anesthesia care providers with the rapid administration of intravenous fluids and blood products used to manage and treat patients for surgical and off-site anesthesia procedures. The ability to administer intravenous fluids and blood products in a timely manner protects the safety of our surgical research population and is necessary in order to support the massive transfusion protocol that was recently approved in the NIH Clinical Center. The Department of Perioperative Medicine has recently experienced an increase in the volume of concurrent cases that require a rapid infusion device. One Belmont Rapid Infuser is already used in the Department of Perioperative Medicine and a second device is requested to support concurrent needs. The Belmont Rapid Infuser is specific and unique to standardize rapid infuser equipment and disposables for both patient safety and procurement goals. The following item needed: 903-00039-The Belmont Rapid Infuser RI-2120V-includes IV Pole, Reservoir holder support housing Assy, and Operator manual One year warranty one day training Location: The Equipment location - National Institutes of Health, 9000 Rockville Pike, Bldg. 10,Room 2C529 Bethesda, MD 20892.
