Brief Description of Supplies/ Services required and the intended use/Estimated Amount: The estimated amount of this procurement is $67,583.97. This is a Sole Source, Firm Fixed Price Procurement Request to purchase 1 Ea., WD290-Washer/Disinfector, (Item No.): 821140, 3 Ea., 3 Level Wash Rack, Manual Load Washer, (Item No.): 814491M, 2 Ea., Transport Card WD290, (Item No.): 549156, 1 Ea., Enclosure, 1 WD290 DS 108, DS Only Without Return (Item No.): ENC291DN108, 1 Ea., Enclosure for WD290 Washer Includes Base, Side, Intermediate (Item No.): ENC291-09B100, 1 Ea., Washer Chemical Starter Kit (Item No.): 107-2169, 1 Ea., 1 Ea., Installation Kit for WD290 Steam Manual Washer, (Item No.): 620040MS, 1 Ea., Washer Chemical Probe Kit, (Item No.): KIT-062, 1 Ea., Installation/Equipment Assembly (Item No.): 106-3285 The equipment and supplies requested by the Service are required to replace the existing equipment that has reach the end of its useful lifecycle. The Washer/Disinfector is used to sanitize surgical instruments used during surgical procedure and directly impacts patient care and safety issue. The equipment and supplies contained in this procurement will be purchased from Alliant Healthcare, Inc., which is located at 8850 M89, Suite A, Richland, Michigan 49083-8558 and is the SDVOSB/VOSB Authorized Distributor of Belimed, Incorporated products. The item(s) are required to be delivered to the Ann Arbor Healthcare System on or before Friday, October 06, 2018. Unique characteristics that limit availability to only one source, with the reason no other supplies or services can be used: Belimed adheres to the highest safety standards in the industry. The WD 290 reaches a thermal disinfection level of A0 3000 versus the typical disinfection level of A0 600. This is more effective at inactivating certain heat resistant organisms that may be present on contaminated instruments. To minimize the possibility of cross contamination, sensors in the system will not release the load unless all cycle parameters are met. The high performance and large capacity of the washer ensure that instruments are getting to the clean side at just the right time, balancing workflow through the CSSD. The longer chamber allows processing of larger orthopedic and bariatric sets. Together, these features eliminate bottlenecks at prep and pack and streamline the department. With a combination of Belimed s SmartFill technology, which senses the load size and adjusts water use accordingly, and a soaking wash approach, the WD 290 offers the lowest water use per tray, in the industry. The innovative design makes the WD 290 completely serviceable from the front and back of the unit; no side service area required. This results in a smaller width and overall footprint, conserving another valuable resource in the CSSD: Space. The facility currently uses this washer/disinfector at the facility and the staff has been training on the operating procedures, general repair, and maintenance of the equipment. Description of market research conducted and results or statement why it was not conducted: Market research was conducted utilizing GSA Advantage, MedSurg, FPDS-NG, VIP VetBiz, and conducting a Google Internet Search. The results of the Market Research have indicated that Alliant Healthcare, Inc. is the authorized SDVOSB/VOSB Business Concern that can meet the procurement requirements. Contracting Officer's Certification: Purchase is approved in accordance with FAR13.106-1(b). I certify that the foregoing justification is accurate and complete to the best of my knowledge and belief. Note: COs are required to make a determination of price reasonableness IAW FAR 13.106-3.
