- Description
- Meeting Specifications The National Assessment Governing Board, an independent and representative board established by the U.S. Congress to set policy for education assessment in the nation has an ongoing requirement to host its quarterly Board meetings. Three of the four meetings typically take place in the Washington DC metropolitan area, and one of the four meetings takes place outside the Washington DC area, often in a city where a Board member resides. The Governing Board is seeking capability statements from offerors that can host these meetings. The calendar for the Governing Board meetings can be found at https://nagb.gov/governing-board/quarterly-board-meetings.html. The August 2019 Board meeting venue has been established. An overview of the requirements is provided herewith. Based on guidance issued by the U.S. Department of Education, all possible venues that are available to the public without cost must be explored prior to executing contracts with venues that involve costs. Details on searching for free meeting venues can be found at https://www.gsa.gov/about-us/regions/welcome-to-the-national-capital-region-11/buildings-and-facilities/meeting-and-event-space. All meeting requirements must also comply with Federal Travel Regulations; per diem rates are established every fiscal year; see https://www.gsa.gov/travel-resources. Guidance issued by the U.S. Department of Education on conference spending, in compliance with OMB issued directives can be found at https://www2.ed.gov/about/reports/annual/edfy12conferences013113pt2.pdf. This requirement is for ascertaining capability statements and conducting market research. A Request for Proposals is not being issued at this time.
