Description
NOTICE OF INTENT OF SOLE SOURCE THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE. RESPONSIBILE SOURCES MAY SUBMIT A CAPABILITY STATEMENT, PROPOSAL, OR QUOTATION THAT SHALL BE CONSIDERED BY THE AGENCY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. This is a notice of intent to award a sole source contract under statutory authority 10 USC 2304(c) (1), set forth in Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The reference number is FA441818Q0098. The 628th Contracting Squadron, 101 E. Hill Blvd., Joint Base Charleston, intends to award a sole source contract for an Tagima Embroidery Machine, model number TMSP-SC1501 and installation for prisoners to receive upholstery training and labor certifications in this field. The embroidery machine utilizes Tagima software required to ensure communication and compatibility with the existing units as well as a unique safety feature that disables the machine upon detection of an interference. The 628th Contracting Squadron intends to make an award to Hirsch International Corp., 50 Engineers Road, Suite 100, Hauppauge NY 11788 for two TMSP-SC1501 Tajima Embroidery Machines. These embroidery machines operate on the same software as the existing units allowing for communication and compatibility between the new and existing machines as well as having the unique safety feature that fulfills the needs of the NAVCONBRIG and prisoners. IAW FAR 5.207(c) (15) (ii), the proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(b) (ii). This notice of intent to award is not a request for competitive proposals; however, responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation that shall be considered by the agency. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
