- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation is attached. The solicitation number is 12052118S0014 and is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). This solicitation document incorporates those provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-101. The Government intends to issue a firm-fixed price service contract for this requirement. The USDA, Agricultural Research Service, Washington State University, 100 Dairy Rd, Pullman, WA 99164 has a requirement for Magnetic particle process machine for DNA Extraction. Requirement: -Ability to reproducibly isolate and purify high quality nucleic acids including DNA, RNA, protein from multiple sources including cell cultures, tissue lysates, and soil. -Magnetic beads particle methods for nucleic acid extraction and purification. -Working volume from 20-1000 microliters -Compatible with samples in microtiter 96 well deep well plates, for example: Deep well plate (50 - 1000 μl), KingFisher 96 plate (20 - 200 μl), PCR plate (20 - 100 μl) -Heating temperature: From +4°C above ambient temperature to +96°C -≥95% particle collection efficiency -Ability to process at least 96 samples per run. -Number of user selectable magnetic heads = 4 -Stand alone use (not as part of a robotic workflow). -Software supporting the ability to create and save ca. 100 custom protocols for extraction. -Serial RS-232C port for interface to computer. -Robot compatibility -Moderate footprint on laboratory bench, not greater than (30 X 30 X 30 inches (W, D, H) Each offeror shall include their proposed delivery schedule (in days after award) as part of their quotation.
