Description

This is not a request for quote; this is a notice of the government's intent to award a firm fixed price contract on a sole source basis to Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A Inc, 1595 Spring Hill RD STE 400 Vienna, VA 22182. The statutory authority permitting an exception to fair opportunity for this action is FAR 13.5 is 41 U.S.C. 1901 and is implemented by for restricting competition on this procurement via FAR 13.106-1(b)(2). This procurement is for a bridge 6-month sole source firm fixed price purchase order for the lease of copiers for the Minneapolis VA Health Care System in accordance with FAR 13.5 Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial Items and specifically FAR 13.501 Special Documentation Requirements, where acquisitions conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6, but still require a justification using the format of FAR 6.303-2. The Network 23 Contracting Office (NCO23), St. Cloud MN intends to procure the lease of copiers for the Minneapolis VA Health Care System on a sole source basis, utilizing FAR Part 13 procedures. This will provide uninterrupted service to the facilities and preventing an adverse effect on patient care while a long-term contract is solicited and awarded. This is not a solicitation and does not constitute a commitment or an obligation by the government. This notice is not a request for offers, quotes or proposals.
