Description
INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE The Department of Veterans Affairs, SAO Central, Network Contracting Office 10, intends to enter into a sole source procurement for Urine Collection Kits for the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center, 4646 John R Street, Detroit, MI 48201. In accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(2) Soliciting from a Single Source, the Department of Veterans Affairs intends to award a firm-fixed price purchase order on a sole source basis with Cepheid US, 904 Caribbean Drive, Sunnyvale, CA 94089 for furnishing urine collection kits and supplies for the testing of chlamydia, gonorrhea, and influenza. The period of performance will be 10/01/2018 09/30/2019 with product deliveries occurring per the delivery schedule. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 325413 and the Business Size Standard is 1,250 employees. The sole source rationale is based on the Government s belief that these testing kits and supplies manufactured by Cepheid are the only ones compatible with the Cepheid testing equipment currently being utilized in the Detroit VAMC Microbiology Lab. This notice of intent is not a solicitation or request for competitive quotes or offers. No solicitation package is available. A determination not to compete this requirement is solely within the discretion of the Government. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to meet the subject requirement. This information shall be provided at no cost or obligation to the Government. Responses must be received no later than 4:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time, Tuesday, September 25, 2018. All responses shall be submitted to Jeffrey Rozema via e-mail at jeffrey.rozema@va.gov. Telephone inquiries will not be accepted.
