- N00164-18-S-NC11 - REQUEST FOR INFORMATION/SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE - PROCUREMENT OF HIGH FREQUENCY SAIL OURBOARD FIBER OPTIC CABLE ASSEMBLIES - FSC 6020 - NAICS 335921 Issue Date 20 September 2018 - Closing Date 04 October 2018 - 12:00 PM EST INTRODUCTION: This is a Request for Information (RFI)/Sources Sought (SS) for market research and planning purposes only in accordance with FAR 15.201 and does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) nor does its issuance restrict the Government as to the ultimate acquisition approach. The Government will not reimburse the contractor for any cost associated with preparing or submitting a response to this notice. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division, Crane, IN is seeking information from potential sources that can provide high frequency outboard fiber optic cable assemblies for SSN 21 and SSN 688 Class submarine platforms. This is an RFI/SS announcement to determine the availability and technical capability of businesses to provide the required supplies. Additionally, this RFI/SS notice is being published with the intent to conduct market research and promote competition. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFPs, if any are issued. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized on the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps). It is the responsibility of the potential sources to monitor these sites for additional information pertaining to this requirement. BACKGROUND: The Government is issuing this RFI/SS Notice as part of market research for high frequency outboard fiber optic cable assemblies installed on SSN 21 and SSN 688 Class submarine platforms for the purpose of determining industry sources for the procurement of a minimum of 4 cable assemblies and a maximum of 440; in accordance with the Statement of Work and applicable drawings. The Government intends on issuing a ten (10) year Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) type contract. The procurement anticipates the following five (5) cable assembly part numbers: 7335184-1 7335184-2 7335184-3 7335393-1 7335393-2 CONTRACT BACKGROUND: Supplies associated with this requirement are currently being procured via contract N00164-14-D-GP93 by Teledyne Instruments, Inc. ELIGIBILITY: The applicable NAICS code for this requirement is 335921 and the Product Service Code is 6020. REQUIRED CAPABILITIES: The attached draft Statement of Work (SOW) provides additional information about the required procurement. It is requested that, in response to this RFI/SS, a vendor identify whether it has the capability to perform all of the requirement or only specific portions of the requirement. SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS: Interested businesses should submit a capabilities statement package consisting of the following: 1.Word 2010 compatible format 2.Limit of Five (5) pages, excluding cover sheet page 3.No smaller than 10 point font 4.8.5" x 11" pages 5.Contractor Capability Statement demonstrating ability to manufacture the supplies listed in this RFI/SS and in accordance with the attached SOW and drawings. 6.Cover Sheet shall include the following: a.Announcement Number: N00164-18-S-NC11 b.Company Name c.Company Address d.Company Cage Code e.Company Size f.Company Point of Contact information to include (Name, phone number, and email address) Responses to this RFI/SS shall be submitted electronically by email to Jordyn Meyer, Contract Specialist, at Jordyn.Meyer@navy.mil. Responses shall be received no later than 1200 PM Eastern Daylight Time on 05 October 2018. Submissions shall reference tracking number N00164-18-S-NC11 in the subject line of the email. Proprietary information, if any, should be minimized and MUST BE CLEARLY MARKED. All information marked as proprietary information will be safeguarded to prevent disclosures to non-government personnel and entities. Classified material SHALL NOT be submitted. Contractors must be properly registered in the Government System for Award Management database (SAM).
