Description

Notice of Intent to Sole Source: The Naval Supply (NAVSUP) Systems Command, Fleet Logistics Center Jacksonville (FLCJ), FL intends to issue a sole source award for 88 tailor made Aviator style NOMEX flight suits with embroidery and Blue Angel Crest, as well as air show Commitment Clothing and Enlisted Dickie Style Uniform Alterations for the Blue Angel current and new team members (officer and enlisted) on an as need basis for the 2019 Air Show Season utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures to The Sewing Box, LLC. The Sewing Box, LLC who constructed and/or made the flight suits since 1976 owns the design so the Blue Angels are unable to send the design to other vendors. The Sewing Box has all measurements for the current team members which would produce numerous problems because all their measurements would have to be redone and new flight suits issued to the team members returning. This would not only produce a delay but increase costs to the team. Also, due to the Blue Angel air show tempo, the vendor needs to be flexible and local to the area to accommodate the Blue Angels ™ schedule. The applicable North American Industrial Classification System Code (NAICS) code that this work falls under is 315990, Apparel Accessories and Other Apparel Manufacturing, with the Small Business Standard is 500 employees. This notice of intent is for information purposes only. All sources eligible to provide this requirement must respond in writing. Responses must be supported with clear and convincing evidence to clearly articulate the ability to provide this requirement as outlined above. A request for documentation will not be considered as an affirmative response. If no responses are received, within 3 calendar days after publication of this notice, to the effect that comparable items are available, and that it is more advantageous to the Government than obtaining this product through a sole-source contract, then a sole source acquisition award will be made.
