Description
Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Network Contracting Office 5, is issuing this request for information/sources sought notice in order to identify sources that have the capability to provide auricular acupuncture supplies. Supply Item Descriptions & Requirements VHA is training physicians and healthcare providers to do an auricular acupuncture technique called Battlefield Acupuncture and must provide the following types of acupuncture supplies needed for this training: 1. AURICULAR ACUPUNCTURE NEEDLES: Semi-permanent dart shaped needles designed to stay in auricular points for several days. Needles must have individual needle injectors with attached magnets for additional stimulation. Hypoallergenic latex-free adhesive plasters should be included. Metal shall be gold plated, latex and nickel free. Needles shall be pyrogen free. 2. PRESS TACKS: Individual sterile ear press tack needles of surgical stainless steel with dual layer adhesive that allows the needle to be pressed and applied to the ear or body to remain for a longer period of treatment. Needles shall be 1.5 mm long. 3. EAR MAGNETS: Pre-taped gold-plated press ear magnets 1.2 mm diameter on latex free tape. 4. ACUPUNCTURE EAR SET: Life-sized replicas of the human auricula (ear concha) to facilitate learning and practicing ear acupuncture (also auricular medicine or auricular therapy). Must be made of high-quality silicone rubber of varied skin tones. Ears must be able to withstand repetitive insertion of semi-permanent needle applied with auto-injector without tearing or other degradation of material. Size of ear should be no larger than 1 5/8in in width, and 2 3/4in in height. Set = Left and Right Ears. Interested & Capable Responses NCO 5 is seeking responses from businesses that are interested in this procurement and consider themselves to have the capabilities necessary to provide these supplies. Please respond with your: Business name, business type, socio-economic status (e.g., Veteran-Owned, Woman-Owned, Disadvantaged Small Business, 8(a), etc.), and person of contact (including telephone number & email address). Capability statement confirming which of the supplies your company can and cannot provide. Include the packaging quantity of each supply (e.g., 200 per box). GSA contract number if your company has one and has these supplies available on it. Include the contract s ultimate completion date inclusive of all remaining option periods. Approximate cost per package for each of the supplies. Country of origin/manufacture for each of the supplies. Responses must be submitted by 11:00 AM (EST) October 9, 2018.
