- Subject: Notice of Intent to Award Sole Source The Regional Health Contracting Office - Central intends to issue a sole-source contract to Cochlear Americas Corporation for Bone-Anchored Hearing Aid (BAHA) systems under the authority of 41 United States Code 1901 as implemented in Federal Acquisition Regulation 13.501(a)(1)(ii), sole source (including brand name) under the authority of the simplified procedures for certain commercial items for Evans Army Medical Center, Fort Carson, CO and William Beaumont Army Medical Center, Fort Bliss, TX. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code is 339112, Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing. The Small Business Administration's size standard for NAICS 339112 is 1,000 employees. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which shall be considered by the agency before the intended award date. Interested sources who submit data are responsible for appropriately marking information if it is proprietary in nature. The Government shall not reimburse interested sources for any information provided. No requests for capability briefings will be honored as a result of this notice and any information provided will not be used as part of any subsequent solicitation requirement. No telephonic inquires will be honored. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
