- brand name justification BRAND NAME JUSTIFICATION FOR SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITIONS OVER $3000 AND UP TO $100,00 SUPPLIES 1. The Office of Community Planning and Development has submitted a requisition RCS-2018-D-00013 into PRISM for brand name only supply/material, and competition of equal items is precluded for reasons listed below. There are no substitutes available to fulfill CPD's needs for this product. 2. Restricted to the following brand name and size: Manufacture: Sharp AQUOS BOARD Model Number: PN-C705B 3. Specific characteristics of the material that limit the availability to brand name (unique features. Function of the item, etc.) Describe in detail why only this brand name product/material is required in order to meet your mission needs/standards. The 70' Sharp AQOUS broads offer a unique technology needed to engage staff in smooth and effortless communication in a wide range of contexts and only be acquired by this brand in the current market. The Sharp PN-C705B AQUOS BOARD® will provide Interactive display system, which will provide the ideal focal point for meetings, presentations, or lessons. The smart and convenient SHARP Pen Software will enable CPD to present real-time information sharing with multi-user (4 users) who can collaborate and write information at the same time for effective and lively exchanges. The Sharp touch viewer will also allow CPD users to manipulate other HUD desk top software (Word, Power Point, Excel) while using the whiteboards, and the SHARP Display Connect software enables multifaceted wireless communication. The 70" Sharp AQOUS is not offered by another company making the SHARP Whiteboards. This Sharp product will allow for greater engagement of management and staff, which will help CPD create, learn, and share information more effectively. In addition, the SHARP brand will not interfere with HUD's existing 20-year-old technology while capitalizing on wireless communication, offering a smooth transition to new technology, and they are very convenient because they can be mounted on stands which can be moved to various conference rooms and locations.. 5. Research and analysis was conducted by Deirdre Neighbors, COR, CPD Office of Technical Assistance Office, conducted inquiries by telephone and email to potential small businesses who could all provide the product needed. He received from each, their written specifications. The 70" SHARP AQOUS was determined as the best product to meet the needs of the Office of Community Planning and Development. The display unit will allow CPD to have up to 30 or more staff members engaged and able to view and collaborate on materials at the same time. No other manufacturer offers the technology that the SHARP AQOUS does. 6. Research will continue to identify the existence of other products that could satisfy the needs of the organization for future requirements. 7. Paragraph 5 identifies the market research that was conducted to determine whether other manufacturers could satisfy the minimum requirements of the organization. All contractors will be given an opportunity to bid on this acquisition. 8. NIS Solutions, GSSI and Cellentla Information Technology stated they are interested and provided estimates for the Sharp Aquos' Interactive Board.
