- THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT. THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION IN SUPPORT OF MARKET RESEARCH ONLY. DISCLAIMER: This is a Request for Information (RFI) from industry in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 15.201(e). This announcement is NOT a request for proposal or quotation; therefore, responses to the RFI will NOT be considered offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation. Any information received in response to this RFI that is marked as proprietary will be handled accordingly. Any costs or expenses associated with responses to this RFI are solely the responsibility of the responder. NO CLASSIFIED information shall be included in any RFI response. Responders should contact the publishing contracting office with any questions or concerns pursuant to this RFI. INFORMATION REQUESTED: The U.S. Army Natick Soldier Research, Development, and Engineering Center, is seeking commercially available, non-lethal products which are capable of deterring barking dogs. This lightweight, weatherproof, and portable solution must be durable for field use and small enough to fit in an M4 magazine pouch. The item must not produce an audible or highly visual sign signature and should be able to function for 3-5 hours on battery power. The product should also allow for the rapid change of battery/batteries for extended use. INSTRUCTIONS: All interested parties shall submit responses electronically in a Microsoft Word (.doc) or PDF (.pdf) compatible format. All responses are limited to NTE 5 pages. Please be advised that all correspondence sent via e-mail shall contain a subject line that reads "RFI - CANINE DETERRENT." Attachments with files ending in.zip or.exe are not allowable and such files will be stripped and deleted from any emails received by the Government. Please ensure only.pdf,.doc(x), or.xls (x) documents are attached to any reply email. RESPONSES AND SUBMISSIONS: All responses must be received no later than 3 :00 PM EST on 16 November 2018.
