- Description
- This notice is to announce a Request for Information in support of a Prototype Project under the Authority of Section 2371b of Title 10, U.S.C. to carry out Other Transactions. Specifically, the Government has a need for a Secure Intra-Soldier Wireless Module with Reduced Size and Power which will allow U.S. Army Research Development and Engineering Command (RDECOM), Communications and Electronics Research and Development Engineering Center (CERDEC), Night Vision Electronics Sensors Directorate (NVESD) to address emerging requirements for smaller, lower power Intra-Soldier Wireless (ISW) modules that can support AES-256 bit encryption. The objective of this effort is to demonstrate significant size and power reduction in prototype ISW modules to support integration with dismounted Soldier systems such as the Integrated Visual Augmentation System (IVAS). This effort will also address emerging requirements for improved encryption to support certification for Secure but Unclassified (SBU) and Secret and Below (SAB) operation. The products of this effort will enable integration of secure, small, low power ISW modules with existing or developmental sensor systems to provide improved ISW capabilities to the dismounted Soldier. In summary, this effort will deliver prototype ISW modules that can be evaluated against established size, power consumption, and security requirements. NVESD anticipates a single twenty (20) month prototype agreement award to support this program. Please be aware that the specifications for this program will be For Official Use Only (FOUO). In order to receive information on these specifications, a DD Form 2345 must be approved and on file with the Contracting Specialist, Lena Plummer-Milindez (lena.v.plummer-milindez.civ@mail.mil), to enable receipt of FOUO documents related to this prospective project In preparation for receiving the FOUO solicitation, instructions can be found here for filing the DD2345: http://www.dla.mil/HQ/InformationOperations/Offers/Products/LogisticsApplications/JCP/SpecificDD2345Instructions.aspx. In response to this RFI, please provide a capability statement demonstrating capabilities similar to those outlined for this effort as described in the synopsis posted. The capability statement should identify the company's size status, and whether it is a Nontraditional Defense Contractor or not.
