- Description of Work: This is a Sources Sought Notice and is for information purposes only. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS, QUOTATIONS, OR BIDS. NO SOLICITATION IS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. A Market Survey is being conducted to determine if there are adequate small businesses for the following proposed contract(s): Blue Marsh Dam is located in Leesport, PA, seven miles northeast of Reading, PA. It has seven stop logs. These stop logs are used to provide temporary closure for any of the intake openings of the dam intake structure or for selective intake into either of the wet wells. For wet-wells intake, the bulkheads may be used in conjunction with the four (4) water control apertures. The stop logs, water control apertures and spare water quality gate are typically stored in the maintenance building garage on site. Based on current condition, it is recommended that all of these be painted and that rubber seals on the stop logs be removed and replaced. Each stop log is 6'-3" wide and 5'-1" tall and weighs approximately 1500 lbs. Each aperture is 6'-3" wide and 5'-5" tall and weighs approximately 650 lbs. The water quality gate is 5'-2 ½" tall by 2'-4" wide and weighs approximately 800 lbs. The Contractor shall be required to (a) commence work under this contract within 10 calendar days after the Contractor receives the notice to proceed, (b) prosecute the work diligently, and (c) complete the entire work ready for use not later than 60 calendar days after the date the Contractor receives the notice to proceed. The project address is: 1268 Palisades Dr. Leesport, PA 19533. An Award for the Contract is anticipated for December 2018. Estimated cost range of the project is less than $100,000.00. Performance and Payment Bonds will be required for 100% of contract award. The NAICS Code for this project is 238320 and the small business size standard is $15 Million. Responses to this sources sought announcement will be used by the government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. All interested HUBZone, 8(a), Service Disabled Veteran Owned, Small Business contractors should submit a narrative demonstrating their experience in the specified work, as well as, their technical capabilities. Please include size/classification of your firm, bonding capacity (single project and aggregate), details of similar projects, completion dates, references and contract amount.
