Description
The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), Lakehurst, NJ, intends to negotiate on a limited-competition basis with Davis Aircraft Products Co., Inc., Bohemia, NY and Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation of Stratford, CT, for the fabrication of four (4) Air Transport Sets, P/N: 71700-77000-041, NSN: 1730-01-568-2043, on behalf of FMS case SR-P-SBU between the United States Government and the Government of Saudi Arabia. Davis Aircraft Products and Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation are the sole manufacturers of the said equipment, and are the only known sources that are capable of providing the above equipment of the same form, fit and function that is compatible with the existing configuration. This item is the only unit authorized by the US Navy. The Air Transport Sets for the MH-60R are used to restrain and support the main rotor blades, the tail rotors and the stabilator wings during transport. This is to prevent damage to the aircraft during stowed transport. The Government intends to procure the above under the authority of FAR Part 13. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all responses received within fifteen days after the date of publication of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of this notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
