Description
The Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC) intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Biofire Diagnostics for reagents and ancillary supplies to support ten (10) purchased Biofire FilmArray instruments for VISN 12. These reagents and ancillary supplies are necessary to run the instrument to conduct automated multiplex polymerase chain reaction (PCR) pathogen identification in positive blood culture, cerebrospinal fluid (meningitis/encephalitis), and respiratory pathogens for Edward Hines Jr VA Hospital, Hines, IL; James Lovell Federal Health Care Center, North Chicago, IL; Illiana Health Care System, Danville, IL; Clement J. Zablocki VA Hospital, Milwaukee, WI; and William Middleton VA Hospital, Madison, IL under the Pathology and Lab Medicine Service (PLMS) department for VISN 12. Manufacturer of the reagents and supplies is Biofire Diagnostics. This single source procurement is in accordance with FAR 8.4 for Federal Supply Schedules. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation documents are available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer by 12:00 PM (CST) November 6, 2018. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Information must be sent to the Contracting Officer, Jessica Rasmussen, GLAC, 115 South 84th Street Suite 101, Milwaukee, WI 53214-1476 or emailed to Jessica.rasmussen3@va.gov by the above date. TELEPHONIC INQUIRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If responses are not received to sufficiently substantiate alternate sources of supply, the GLAC will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Biofire Diagnostics.
