- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, intends to enter into a firm fixed price contract with Illinois Marine Towing (IMT) for required repairs to the Motor Vessel (MV) La Salle. The initial requirement to dry dock and inspect the MV La Salle was solicited competitively amongst the Rock Island District's Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) holders. The call order was awarded to IMT. The MV La Salle is currently dry docked at IMT awaiting repairs. The Rock Island District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), intends to procure this requirement on a sole source basis in accordance with FAR 13.501(a)(1). The NAICS code for this procurement is 336611 with an employee size standard of 1,250. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES and no solicitation will be issued; however, any small business firm that believes it can meet the requirement may give written notification to the Contracting Officer in the form of a capability statement. Supporting evidence in sufficient detail that demonstrates the ability to comply with the requirement listed must be furnished to the point of contact listed below by 02 November 2018 at 10:00 A.M. CT. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The US Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, will not reimburse for any costs connected with supplying sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirement listed and be in the best interest of the government. In order to receive a government award, a firm must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) at www.sam.gov. Firms must register on a one-time basis, and annually confirm accuracy and completeness of registration information.
