Description
Princess Anne Wetland Project Description USACE NORFOLK DISTRICT-LYNNHAVEN RIVER BASIN ECOSYSTEM RESTORATION, PHASE 1 PRINCESS ANNE WETLAND RESTORATION PROJECT The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers-Norfolk District in Partnership with the City of Virginia Beach, Virginia invites Earthwork Industry Contractors to an Industry Day for the Lynnhaven River Basin Ecosystem Restoration, Phase 1-Princess Anne Wetland Restoration Project located on the properties of the Princess Anne High School and the Thalia Lynn Baptist Church along Thalia Creek in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Norfolk District is seeking qualified and experienced contractors capable of restoring and enhancing the tidal wetland and associated riparian buffer on Thalia Creek. The Project Description and tentative Project Schedule is provided as an attachment to this notice. The Industry Day will be held at Princess Anne High School located at 4400 Virginia Beach Blvd, Virginia 23462 on Tuesday, 6 November 2018, 11:00 am - 2:00 pm. Check-in for the event will begin at 12:30 pm. Contractors will be required to check in at the Main Lobby at the Princess Anne High School. If there is sufficient interest, participation by webinar will be arranged with the details to follow in an amendment to this announcement. THIS EVENT IS NOT A MARKETING OPPORTUNITY AND WILL NOT PROMOTE UPCOMING PROJECTS. The purpose and focus of the event will be to seek Industry input and questions regarding best practices for the technical execution of the Princess Anne Wetland Restoration Project. The event will be limited to the wetland restoration components of the Phase 1 of the Lynnhaven River Basin Ecosystem Restoration Project. The event will include a presentation by Norfolk District staff members giving current information regarding scope of work, environmental permit requirements, safety, earthwork and material placement concerns, work zone and time-of-year restrictions. Copies of draft technical documents and plans will be available for review during the event. The event will also include a site visit to the project site. We request interested attendees pre-register by email to Alicia Logalbo, USACE Norfolk District Planning and Policy Branch, Environmental Analysis Section Chief at alicia.m.logalbo@usace.army.mil with the email subject line: " Princess Anne Wetland Restoration Project." Please submit all requests by Monday, 5 November 2018 at 1:30pm EST. Telephone requests will not be accepted. Please include the following in the email request: company, POC, daytime telephone number, e-mail address, and your relation to the industry. Registrants are encouraged to include suggested topics of discussion when registering. This is a non-fee event. Meals will not be served. The event will take place outside in the parking lot of the Princess Anne High School. This announcement is not a solicitation, a promise to issue any future contract, a forum to discuss upcoming work, or a commitment to offer work of any kind on the part of the Government. The Government will not conduct one-on-one discussions related to any potential contracts or on-going work under contracts during this event. The Government will not assume liability for costs incurred by an attendee for travel expenses or marketing efforts.
