Description
Approved and Redacted Exception to Fair Opportunity. The proposed action will be for up to 26,200 Joint Personal Dosimeters - Individual (JPD-IND), conformance testing, and technical data. The JPD-IND is a rugged Radiation Detection, Indication and Computation (RADIAC) Battlefield Dosimeter that replaces legacy radiological dose measurement devices. JPD-IND will provide a joint solution that eliminates parts obsolescence, increases capability, reduces life-cycle costs, and addresses Operation TOMODACHI lessons learned for common, interoperable equipment with adequate sensitivity and common units of measure, replacing the legacy systems, the PDR-75/DT-236 and the PDR-75A/DT-236A series systems. The JPD-IND system is envisioned to include a real-time, self-indicating dosimeter unit with inherent measurement and display capabilities, and to be worn on the wrist or chest. Data transfer is will occur via connectivity to existing situational awareness and mission command systems and tactical networks.
