- Solicitation W52P1J-19-T-3007. Questions will be accepted until 1200 CST 21 November 2018. Thermwood M45-510 Fixed Table Moving Gantry CNC Router or EQUAL MACHINE: The fixed table moving gantry CNC router, engineered steel construction, track ways, AC servos and ball screw drives must machine low profile materials such as hardwoods, softwoods, fiberboard (MDF), particleboard, plastics and aluminum. Volumetric compensation measures the exact X,Y and Z position of the cutting head within the working envelope and compensates all three axes. High performance closed loop AC Servo drives equipped on all axes. The ways on all axes must be precision ground, hardened ways with precision bearings. CONTROL SYSTEM: Must include control system that features a rich, multi-tasking, high performance CNC control system configured to perform 3 axis simultaneous motions. The control system must have a high level of hardware integration, extensive use of reliable surface mount technology and a built in upgrade path for future technology. It shall also include a serial port for hand held programmer interface, variable 0 to 120% feed rate override, and operator controls for start, stop, axis jog +, axis jog -, block step +, block stop - and feed hold. The control shall use a Microsoft® Windows® 10 Professional operating system, offering the operator choices for program and machine operation display, pop-up windows for event and information display, pop-up windows for data input, and the ability to operate. CNC ROUTER: • Programmable and controlled three axis motion • High performance AC Brushless Servo Drive System with feed speeds to 1200 inches/minute • Air conditioned control cabinet • Solid-state memory and control system, fully diagnostic. • Minimum of 1 TB SATA hard drive system for program and system storage • Quad Core Processor minimum • "QWERTY" keyboard • Minimum of 19" wide full color LCD screen monitor • EIA 274D programming • Network ready with enhanced network filter • PCI bus expansion • Control Touch Pad • Feed rate over ride • Feed hold • Menu driven programming • Machine Variable Dialog Screen • Tooling verification screen • Spindle Amperage Load Meter • Laser calibration and certification • Pitch error compensation • 480V 60Hz 3 Phase power input • One year limited warranty. The warranty includes one (1) year of Advanced Support PORTABLE HAND HELD PROGRAMMING UNIT: • Equipped with durable 24-key steel-dome membrane keypad and LCD sunlight readable display. The unit is housed in a rugged ABS case with rubberized sure grip sides and comes with a custom holding saddle mounted to the machine control cabinet. Programming features include: • Direct creation of machine motions including linear, arc/circular, helical, and elliptical, and other programming functions • Direct feed rate override % control • Zero feed rate % button • Power feed positioning at current feed rate until button is released • Pulse/move an axis at a set increment for fine positioning • Power pulse an axis for fine positioning until button is released • Part program lines/blocks displayed • Scroll through part program lines/blocks to view any line. • Current feed rate is always displayed on teach screens. • Current pulse increment is always displayed during line/motion teach. • Feed hold capability for controlled halting of runtime execute. • Must come with Aspire by Vectric as default program • Must be compatible with VCarve Pro 8.5 VOLUMETRIC 3D LASER COMPENSATION: Compensates for positional variations within the three dimensional working envelope of the machine. FIXTURE PLACEMENT COMPENSATION: Shall allow the user to mechanically locate three points on a fixture during initial program set up. These points establish future fixture locations. This feature is to be provided for when the fixture cannot be precisely located on the machine bed after each use. CONTROL NESTING SOFTWARE: • Able to combine multiple jobs in a single nest • Label printer support to print labels for each part at the machine included • Sheet printer support to print detail nest diagrams at the machine included • Automatic trim of reusable material to remove unusable protrusions • Full control of minimum size part to save for future use • Bar code labeling of reusable drops for easy input in new jobs • Simple bar code scan to add drops to a new job • Full ability to edit and delete jobs and items from nests • Easy ability to replace scrapped parts in the next nest • Software shall be simple to operate and runs right on the CNC control • Shall allow operator to manually input size and shape of any material then nest it • Shall allow operator to input location of defects then nest around them CONTROL DXF SOFTWARE: • Must run DXF output from major CAD and Cabinet Design Systems without the additional interface or software. PROFILE MODELER: The Profile Modeler shall offer the ability to machine profiles generated using the Job Level Interface output from capable design software. Profiles shall be machined by using a combination of tools, such as in modeling, or by using a specific custom tool through the Custom Tool selection function. WORK TABLE: • Minimum of 60 inch long by 60 inch wide stationary aluminum table. 10 inch minimum height from bottom of covernut (tooling insert) to table surface. The table top shall be equipped with integral spacers to allow for maximum vacuum flow. PART HOLD-DOWN: • ¾" MDF high flow vacuum table board • ¼" MDF high flow vacuum waste board • Table equipped for vacuum hold-down. Includes one (1) high flow plumbing port with pneumatic open/close switch. VACUUM PUMP: • Capacity: 270 CFM open flow, maximum vacuum 24" Hg (at sea level). The pump is an oil less rotary vane type vacuum pump with carbon vanes, built-in suction filter, vacuum regulating valve, blow-off valve/silencer, coupled to 208/230/460 Volt, 60 Hz, 3 phase motor. The unit has an external intake filter and starter (high voltage). Includes, inlet filtering, electric starter, and approximately 15 feet of vacuum hose channeled from the pump to the machine base. This vacuum pump should not be operated in ambient temperatures that are below 5°C / 41° F, or exceed 45° C / 113° F. Made to operate at an elevation not to exceed 2,600 feet above sea level. TOOLING: • One (1) 12 HP, 3,000 to 24,000 RPM programmable variable speed router mounted to a servo controlled Z-axis. SEVEN POSITION COMBINATION TOOL BAR: • Tool bar shall consist of an aluminum plate machined to accept 7 tool positions and shall be mounted to the back of the table surface in a manner not to interfere with standard machining processes. Includes (7) iso-30 tool holders and (7) er-32 collets. Maximum tooling diameter to be, (4) 2" dia. And (3) 3 1/4" dia. Tools. The (3) larger diameter tool positions shall be 14,500 rpm or greater. AUTOMATIC TOOL LENGTH MEASUREMENT: • Automatic method of measuring tool length and entering tool length offset numbers into the control. ADVANCED COMMUNICATION: • Communication features available between the operator and the controls shall allow the operator to electronically search the programming and maintenance manuals, view maintenance videos, error reporting, maintenance tracking, and dynamic exploded assembly drawings. MACHINE TRAINING: • CNC router programming training for 2 students. SYSTEM INSTALLATION: • System installation assistance consisting of a technician being at MCAAP until the machine is up and operational. MCAAP will unload and place the equipment. POWER SUPPLY: • 480V/3 Phase/60 Hz COMPRESSED AIR SUPPLY: • 20 CFM at 100 PSI (Provided by MCAAP) DUST COLLECTION: • Ventilation requirement must not exceed 1,000 CFM (Ducting supplied and installed by MCAAP). Must include a single connection point for attaching 4" or 6" ducting. AUTOMATIC LUBRICATION SYSTEM: • Automatically provides continuous lubrication to the rail bearings and the ball followers on the screws. MASTERCAM ROUTER: • Geometry creation and basic machining including contouring, pocketing, drilling, basic true shape nesting, tabs. Includes solid-based toolpath verification and design functionality. Also included in the package three (3) days of training for one (1) student. • Includes Solids. • Includes Mastercam Maintenance for one (1) year. NOTE: No network or internet connection will be available for this equipment. Equipment must operate and function properly without the use of an internet connection. NOTE: The offeror shall specifically indicate whether or not each of the following required features will be met. If any required feature cannot be met, the offeror will include explanatory remarks for customer review. ADDITIONAL REQUIRMENTS: DETAILED DESCRIPTION REQUIRED PRIOR TO AWARD: MCAAP will validate and verify/approve the contractor's listed equipment concept before award is granted. In order to meet this review requirement, the offeror shall submit with their proposal a detailed technical description of each item. The offeror's description submittal shall account for each one of the required product features located in this qualifying statement. The description shall also clearly portray/describe how each item will function. If the proposal does not include a line by line verification of the equipment specifications then it will be considered incomplete. Any deviation from the specifications shall be explained in detail by describing how the deviation will meet or exceed the requested features. CONCEPTUAL DRAWING REQUIRED PRIOR TO AWARD: Conceptual drawings that are not detail "as built" drawings are required for submittal with the detailed description. Drawing must provide overall height, width, and length dimensions. Drawing must clearly label and display all major components and anchor holes/locations. OPERATION & MAINTENANCE MANUALS DUE DELIVERY: The Contractor shall submit two (2) O&M manuals at the same time that the components are delivered. The Government shall review and approve these O&M manuals. SPARE PARTS LIST: The contractor shall submit a spare parts list at the same time that the components are delivered. It is requested, not required, that the list cover high wear, low life expectancy items, and provide information to help the customer forecast lead times and costs for procuring replacement parts for the listed components.
