THIS SPECIAL NOTICE IS NOT A REQUIEST FOR QUOTES. This noitce is for informational purposes only. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Plains Area, U.S. Meat Animal Research Center (USMARC) intends to award on a sole source basis for: One year supply of swine nursery premix rations for research reasons to United Animal Health under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. USMARC is currently feeding its swine a United Animal Health ration. In order to properly look at the past digestive health and performance of the herd and compare it to the proposed experiment and data moving forward, all variables must be the same. For proprietary reasons United Animal Health will not disclose the specific content of their rations. This is a sole source item due to research continuity requirements. This is a notice of intent and is not a reuest for competitive quotations. No solicitation is available. Vendors that believe they can provide the supply listed are to submit, in writing to the identified point of contact, a capability statement, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency. Information received will be considered solely for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. A determiniation by the government to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely at the discretion of the government. Responses are to be received within 7 days of this notice. No telephone calls are being accepted. This procurement will be processed pursuant to FAR part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR part 13, Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial Items. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (13-NOV-2018); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
