Description
Yellowstone National Park Fleet Maintenance requires the ribbons, supports, shear plate and bearings reworked on a 1991 Schmidt Package Snow plow attachments. Work required on the Schmidt package includes but not limited to: Replace reel assembles (complete) Helical serrated ribbons (6 inch) Curb rings Bearings and housings Ribbon and curb ring supports Install new sheer pin plate and hub currently used on all Yellowstone National Park rotary plows Kodiak America has rebuilt the current configuration of helical ribbons, flights; shear flanges and supports on this package the manufactured replaced all of the original components. Kodiak America has all the required blue prints, metal hardness specifications, weld locations, bearing and supports required for this repair Kodiak America is the only company that has a cold roll helical bender to create the replacement ribbons, other than new equipment manufacturing companies that do not perform repairs work. Kodiak America is the only company that can manufacture the snow blower ribbons to replace the current defective ribbons on the Schmidt package they are the original manufacture. Kodiak America manufactures, and rebuilds rotary plows as their primary business; they stock all the major components for this requirement reducing the time frame (POP) on the repair. The current plow is used to open the Park Service roads and will be needed for this operation no later than January 15, 2019. The Park Service solicited for the requirement of replacing the ribbons and flights on a rotary plow and the only offer provided to the Government was from Kodiak America. No other offers were provided. In fiscal year 201, the Park Service solicited three times for offers to repair Rotary Plows with Kodiak America being awarded all three of the contracts with no other offers received. The work requirements are direct replacement components for our fleet of rotary Snow plow they require the same tolerances, bolt patterns, installation fit, design and bearing make up as the original manufacture. Kodiak America is the original manufacture of all the rotary head components including ribbons snow chutes, reels, guides. And gear boxes. Kodiak has all the required information to reproduce these components to original standards for safety, reliability, fit and finish. Sources soughts for these requirements were posted for additional vendor selections with no response other than Kodiak NW Burley Idaho.
