- Description
- The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Acquisition Operations (OAO), Technology Acquisition Center (TAC), located at 23 Christopher Way, Eatontown, New Jersey, intends to enter into a contract on a basis of other than full and open competition for the destruction of stored media currently located at the three VA National Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP) located in Charleston, South Carolina; Leavenworth, Kansas City, and Tucson, Arizona. VA requires the destruction and disposition of 6,018 Digital Linear Tape/Linear Tape-Open (DLT/LTO) media tapes, qualified vendors to destroy, and dispose currently stored media at the above locations. Due to the fact that the stored media contains Protected Health Information/Personally Identifiable Information (PHI/PIIA) data, the VA requires that the stored media be destroyed by degaussing and pulverizing at the CMOP storage locations. Once the media is destroyed, the VA requires a certificate of destruction report for each facility certifying that all DLT/LTO data tapes were degaussed and pulverized as part of the total destruction process. The intended sole source award will be a firm-fixed price contract with Silent Security Services, Inc., 425 SW Dahled Ave., Port St. Lucie, FL 34953. The Statutory Authority for this effort falls under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 6.302-1 entitled, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. However, in accordance with FAR 5.207(c)(16)(ii), all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. The North American Industrial Classification (NAICS) for this effort is 541519. The anticipated award date is December 14, 2018. This notice does not in itself represent the issuance of a formal request for proposal/quote and is not intended to be taken as such. This notification shall close on November 28, 2018.
