Description
This is not a solicitation announcement. This is a Sources Sought publication only. The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation. Please do not submit a proposal in response to this RFI. This notice is to assist the VA in the determination of sources only. A solicitation is not currently available. Responses to this sources sought is not a request to be added to a prospective offerors list or to receive a copy of the solicitation. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Central Iowa Health Care System (VACIHCS), is currently seeking information from any Vendor that can provide Board Certified Ophthalmology Physician Services on-site and on-call for the VA Central Iowa Health Care System, 3600 30th Street, Des Moines, IA 50310. These services are solely dedicated to Veteran patients of the VACIHCS. VACIHCS is looking for responses from contractors regarding their capability to provide on-call and in-patient consultation for hours outside normal VACIHCS Ophthalmology clinic hours. Vendor will be required to provide phone consultation response within 15 minutes, and/or geographically able to see the patient in person within 60 minutes at VA-CIHCS main campus (3600 30th St, Des Moines, IA 50310) and/ or a vendor clinical space as required. Weekday on-call is estimated at 1600 hours annually and weekend/holiday on-call is estimated at 1150 hours annually. Emergent encounters are estimated at 1 per month and have historically consisted of the following: Testing Procedure CPT Est Annual Qty Removal of Foreign Body, external eye, conjunctival surficial 65205 2 Removal of Foreign Body, conjunctival embedded, subconjunctival, or scleral non- perforating 65210 2 Removal of Foreign Body, Corneal, without slip lamp 65220 1 Removal of Foreign Body, Corneal, with slip lamp 65222 1 Repair of laceration, conjunctiva, with or without no perforating laceration sclera, direct closure 65270 2 Repair of eye socket wound 65290 1 Repair eyelid wound 67930 2 Repair eyelid wound 67935 1 Exam (low to Mod) 92002 3 Exam (moderate to High) 92004 3 Exam (low to moderate) 92012 3 Exam (moderate to high) 92014 3 Office/outpatient visit new 99201 1 Office/outpatient visit new 99202 3 Office/outpatient visit new 99203 4 Office/outpatient visit new 99204 3 Office/outpatient visit new 99205 1 Additional Information: The VA seeks to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification (HUBZone, 8(a), small, small disadvantaged or service disabled veteran owned small business) relative to NAICS Code 621111, Offices of Physicians (except Mental Health Specialists); size standard of $11 Million. ***Only Vendors who currently are (or employ) Ophthalmology physicians within the on-call radius (60 minutes) of the VACIHCS need respond. Responses from Vendors who are not (or do not currently employ) Ophthalmology physicians within the on-call radius are not currently capable of providing services and will not be considered as part of this market research.*** Responses to this Sources Sought will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions and developing a potential procurement strategy. After review of responses to this sources sought synopsis, a solicitation announcement may be published in the FedBizOpps website. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are not considered adequate responses to the solicitation announcement.
