Description

PROJECT DESCRIPTIPON: This is a combined Synopsis/Solicitation Notice for commercial items issued pursuant to FAR Subpart 12. Under this notice, The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, Chicago District (USACE) is issuing a Request for Quotes (RFQ) for services to support a range of activities related to The Chicago Harbor Lock bulkhead relocation. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Chicago District, requires the utilization of a piece of Load Handling Equipment (LHE) and the services of a LHE Operator and Rigger(s) for the loading/unloading of eleven (11) bulkheads and one (1) lifting beam onto/off of two (2) Corps of Engineers supplied deck barges. The current property where the bulkheads are being stored is being sold and therefore the bulkheads need to be relocated. The bulkheads and lifting beam are currently stored at the Loomis Sampson Slip, located off Loomis Avenue, just North of the bridge over the South Branch of the Chicago River (approximately 22nd & Loomis), Chicago, IL. The stop-logs are stored in a one-high configuration, placed on concrete blocks and wood timbers; positioned perpendicular to the edge of the dock (The waters of Sampson Slip). They will be relocated to the Thomas J. O'Brien Lock and Dam located on the Calumet River on the south side of Chicago, IL. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (19-NOV-2018); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
