Description

The Building 1600 renovation project will include a complete renovation including interior power and lighting, emergency / alarm systems, plumbing, HVAC, telecommunications systems, ATFP/seismic upgrades, server racks, floors, walls / ceilings, toilets and furnishings. The renovated facility provides a new interior with an enhanced working environment and greater efficiency, and will accommodate current and future technology for another 40 years of service. The renovation will also include complete demolition of all exterior walls, leaving only the structural support system. The building is a 314,000 SF three story facility and will require additional bracing to account for seismic ratings in this region and must meet progressive collapse requirements. The project will then require new exterior masonry finish. Phased construction and swing space for occupants may also be included as part of the construction scope. Project may require phasing and will require extensive demolition, seismic improvements, sensitive compartmented information facility construction and cybersecurity considerations. Some areas of the facility are ICD 705 complaint. Due to the sensitivity of this project, all Solicitation materials will be provided via a secure site upon issuance. Potential offerors will (1) have to verify that the company is US-owned and personnel are US Citizens and (2) verify that they are currently certified in the Joint Certification Program run by DLIS in order to receive Solicitation materials. Information on this program is available at http://www.dlis.dla.mil/jcp. Potential offerors are encouraged to begin the registration process now as it may take 6-8 weeks for new registrants.
