- This is a Sources Sought (SS) Notice only, not a solicitation announcement and should not be considered as such. There is not a solicitation available at this time. The Government will not pay for any information received in response to this SS, nor will the Government compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing the information provided to the Government. This SS does not constitute a commitment by the Government. Any information provided in response to this market survey will be used for informational purposes only and will not be released. Vendor participation is not a promise of future business with the Government. The purpose of this SS is to conduct Market Research to determine an acquisition strategy for a one-time firm fixed-priced purchase order to purchase a retinal operating viewing system. The Eye Clinic located at the Louis Stokes VAMC needs to procure a retinal operating viewing system that will be compatible with the existing Leica stereoscopic diagonal inverter (SDI). The retinal operating view system shall: mount onto the existing SDI and allow for wide-angle observation of the fundus during vitreous surgery. Provide reduction lens with the ability to view and refocus during extraocular phases of surgery Interchangeable accessories Aligns coaxially with the operating microscope and swings out of the way during the extraocular phase of procedures Automatic inversion Open design for reprocessing Medical grade titanium and stainless steel Light weight and compatible to fit on current microscope Compatible retinal operating viewing systems include the Oculus Biom 5 manufactured by Oculus Surgical, with the complete system including the following components: SDI 4c (Leica), Item No: 54330, One (1) each SDI 4e (Leica), Item No: 54310, One (1) each SDI 4m (Leica), Item No: 54312, One (1) each BIOM 5c, Item No: 55400, Two (2) each Adapter Leica M84x/M820, Item No: 55448, One (1) each Biom 5 Adapter, Item No: 55423, One (1) each Supply cable Leica for SDI, Item No: 54876, One (1) each Simultaneous switch cable adapter, Item No: 54878, One (1) each Control cable Leica for SDI, Item No: 54873, One (1) each Inset for Steri-container for BIOM 5, Item No: 55185, Two (2) each The Oculus BIOM 5 systems and referenced parts have been identified as a possible solution that may satisfy this requirement; however, the Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 10, is conducting market research to determine if there are other solutions equal to the referenced, responsible sources available to satisfy this requirement, identify the business size of available sources, and to determine if there are a sufficient number of Small Business concerns capable of performing the requirements to warrant a set-aside. The proposed solicitation is to furnish all materials, labor, equipment and transportation required to provide supplies to the Department of Veterans Affairs, Cleveland VA Medical Center. Contractor shall also comply with any other federal, state, and local laws applicable to the industry. Potential sources must demonstrate experience and knowledge of required services and capability to provide such services. Potential sources should submit: business name and address; point of contact; business size, and any applicable business socio-economic category; capability statement; provide information for recent and relevant projects similar in nature; DUNS number; contract number if applicable; and brochure of equipment.
