Description
NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to issue sole-source firm-fixed priced award contract, to Canon Medical Systems USA, Inc., 2441 Michelle Dr, Tustin, CA 92780-7047. A sole source procurement will be issued to Canon Medical Systems USA, Inc. because they are the only vendor capable of fully performing the service. Due to the proprietary & specialized nature of the work it must be conducted by OEM personnel with a high level of training & qualifications. Canon Medical Systems USA, Inc. is the owner of the proprietary software and does not offer or authorize the software to a third party vendor. Imaging systems are only to be repaired by Canon technicians. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1 Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The NAICS code is 811219 and has a size standard of $20.5 Million for this procurement. Statement of Work Canon Medical Systems Imaging Systems Service Contract Services to be Provided Contractor shall provide co-operative service including all parts, labor, and travel for the Canon Aquilion 64 Slice CT Scanner (EE# 45741, SID# 293704). The service shall include coverage of the tube and detector. Contractor shall provide co-operative service including all parts, labor, and travel for the Canon Aquilion One CT Scanner (EE#62227, SID# 30001723). The service shall include coverage of the tube and detector. Contractor shall provide full service including all preventative maintenance, parts, labor, and travel for the Canon Infinix VFI/BP Vascular System (EE# 44940, SID#275859). The service shall include coverage of the tube and detector. Location All equipment is located at the VA Medical Center, 3200 Vine St, Cincinnati, OH 45220. Hours of Coverage Service will be available 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Parts All parts provided by the contractor shall meet the equipment manufacturer s original performance specifications. Contractor Competency Contractor shall provide written assurance that all on-site service personnel have received Canon America Medical Systems training on the following systems: Canon Aquilion 64 Slice CT Scanner Canon Aquilion One CT Scanner Canon Infinix VFI/BP Vascular System Contractor Service Report Contractor shall provide a written or electronic service report upon completion of any on-site service activity. Minimum information included shall be date and time, service personnel name(s), problem description, corrective action, parts used, and hours on-site. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement and submit quotations no later than 4pm EST, Dec. 26, 2018 to: Michael.groneman@va.gov. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
