- Description
- The Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, New Jersey intends to issue a Sole Source, Fixed Price contract to DRS Daylight Defense, (CAGE 5DCV5) San Diego, CA for a Quantity of twenty-eight (28) Fiber Optic Cable Assemblies (FOCA) Fiber Adapter Sets (FAS) with EMI Greenlee, Part Number M22-00055-01� to support the Distributer Aperture Infrared Countermeasures (DAIRCM) FOCA on deployed MH-60S helicopters. The proposed action is for hardware for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, ""Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.""��DRS Daylight Defense is the original designer and manufacturer of the FOCA. DRS Daylight Defense is the only known source to provide the DAIRCM to meet the specifications already installed in the MH-60S. DRS Daylight Defense owns all the propriety data including the drawings, technical data package, and assembly instruction. The Government does not have the technical data to obtain this item from an alternate source. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS.� However, all responses received within fifteen days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
