- The U.S. Maritime Administration (MARAD), Oakland, CA intends to award a firm fixed price purchase order to a vendor capable of supplying the Stores Crane for the Training Ship GOLDEN BEAR located at the California Maritime Academy, 200 Maritime Drive, Vallejo, CA 94590, IAW the attached Item Description. Questions regarding the solicitation and quotations shall be e-mailed to the Contract Specialist, Ms. Melissa Reams at melissa.reams@dot.gov. No phone calls will be accepted. Quotations are due no later than�Thursday January 16, 2020 at 1700 PT. Submit quotes electronically to melissa.reams@dot.gov with solicitation number 6991PE20Q000003 in the subject line. 1/8/20: Revision published to post answers to questions received. 1/15: Clarification: In an effort to speed up delivery time, regarding ABS certification that ABS will be required to observe FAT, however, contractor can coordinate with owner supplied naval arch to for submittal of documentation of crane design while crane is being manufactured. 1/14:� Contractor shall be authorized for delivery by fastest traceable means.��Note: Contractors with faster delivery will be evaluated more favorably.��Evaluation Factors for Award in�Solicitation Clauses and Provisions have been revised.� See�attachment accordingly.� Below�Revisions to the Item Description�Provided and Attached Accordingly:� Contractor is to provide an MR330.45A3 or Equivalent crane with similar characteristics which can be provided and delivered in the time frame required to support installation prior to the vessel cruise scheduled for April 30, 2020. Crane is to be of marine type, rated for offshore use with max sea state of 3. Crane is to be certified to ABS standards. Successful contractor is to coordinate with owner (MARAD) supplied Naval Arch for vessel drawings and vessel ABS approvals such that upon completion crane will be certified to be put into vessel ABS cargo gear registry. If an MR330.45A3 crane is unavailable and contractor can supply a crane with equivalent or exceeding requirements, contractor is to supply detailed information in�quote regarding specifics of equivalency, ie. if rack an pinion unavailable what is contractor�s supplied crane equivalent. Contractor to note that original crane was a Trident model: TMP 20-23T38 with a Crane weight of 9000 Lbs., Pedestal weight of 904 Lbs. - 47 1/4"" Diameter x 46"" H. Contractor equivalent crane is intended to be mounted to existing pedestal with modification. Owner supplied Naval Arch to produce drawings for modification and installation to the existing pedestal which are to be submitted to ABS at owner�s (MARAD's)�expense. Contractor to coordinate with Naval Arch for information required to install the crane.
