THIS REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) IS ISSUED SOLELY FOR INFORMATION AND PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY AND DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A SOLICITATION. THE SUBMISSION OF PRICING, CAPABILITIES FOR PLANNING PURPOSES, AND OTHER MARKET INFORMATION IS HIGHLY ENCOURAGED AND ALLOWED UNDER THIS RFI IN ACCORDANCE WITH (IAW) FAR 15.201(e). DISCLAIMER: This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation. All information received in response to this RFI that is marked as proprietary will be handled accordingly. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this RFI. SOURCES SOUGHT DESCRIPTION: This is NOT a solicitation announcement. This is a sources-sought/RFI only. The purpose of this sources-sought/RFI is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification relative to NAICS 541519 (size standard of $27.5 million). Responses to this sources sought will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. After review of the responses to this sources sought, a solicitation announcement may be published. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are not considered adequate responses for a solicitation announcement. SCOPE OF WORK: The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), VISN 22 Network Contracting Office, is seeking sources that can lease new multi-functional copy/printer Machines with a Managed Print Service (MPS) program. The Managed Print Service (MPS) program must have a software, hardware, and maintenance component to support the printing, copying, faxing, and scanning needs of the leased and Government owned machines at various locations within the VA San Diego Healthcare System (VASDHS). Software The Software portion of the MPS is required to be compatible with both New Leased Devices and Existing Government-owned Devices. The contractor will provide remote monitoring and management software that will allow the contractor s technician and the off-site remote technician to monitor and manage all the leased and Government-owned devices through batch processing of all multi-functional copy/printer machines at one time. The software will provide the following capabilities in real time: Proactively and automatically alert the user when toner is low, paper must be loaded, or a device is due for service. Allow for remote device management, batch configuration and firmware upgrades. Single unified management console Access to multiple standard reports and dashboard reports providing key analytics data including document usage summaries, device usage, power usage and accounting reports Maintenance The maintenance portion of MPS is required to be all-inclusive (turn-key solution) in nature to include a dedicated technician, periodic preventative maintenance services, all parts, reporting and expendable supplies except for paper and other print media. The contractor shall perform all services on the software, leased hardware, and Government-owned hardware such as: installation, de-installation, maintenance, repair and/or replacement, relocations, training and responding and resolving incidents, service requests and changes transportation, service delivery management system(s), equipment, parts, and all required supplies necessary for operation of the mail hardware.
