- This requirement is to obtain the duties of a Consultant for the purpose of enhancing the quality of work within the Health Information Management Services (HIMS) and modernize the division to the standard of the Veterans Health Administration system for Carl Vinson VA Medical Center, 1826 Veterans Blvd, Dublin, GA 31021. The Contractor shall provide perspective set of tasks assigned to the Consultant in this agreement, which CVVAMC may augment and prioritize as desired. Serve as Executive Health Information Management Service (HIMS) Consultant. Work closely with and provide support to the newly appointed CVVAMC Health Information Management Service (HIMS) Division Chief, and assist the Chief with setting up coding, clinical documentation improvement (CDI), etc. Assist in providing stable leadership within the Health Information Management Service (HIMS) department. Develop and implement a clinical documentation improvement (CDI) program in accordance with the mandated requirements. Develop and provide support for the development of a fully functional up-to-date Health Information Management Service (HIMS) program. Identify opportunities for incoming CVVAMC Release of information (ROI) and missing Release of information (ROI) gain potential. Identify which workflows to enhance in accordance of finance goals. Develop and implement new processes and flows to generate more revenue for CVVAMC. Assist with implementing new processes for the Veterans Equitable Resource Allocation (VERA) and Health Information Management Service (HIMS) departments to substantially improve inter-department communications. Develop and coordinate processes to interact with providers. Strive to improve accuracy within the Veteran Equitable Resource (VERA) and Health Information Management Service (HIMS) departments. Work closely with CVVAMC to optimize utilization of the Veterans Equitable Resource Allocations (VERA) allocation. Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
