Description

In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.203, this notice serves to provide a synopsis of the Government�s intent to pursue a sole-source acquisition. The 354th Contracting Squadron (354 CONS) at Eielson AFB AK intends to execute a sole-source, firm-fixed-price purchase order with the David Clark Company for aircraft communications headsets, model 12512G-11. The Government intends to pursue a sole-source acquisition for this requirement as no other source of supplies will satisfy the agency�s requirement. At this time, the David Clark model 12512G-11 headset is the only aircraft ground crew communications headset approved for use with the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter. Per a memorandum issued by the F-35 system management office within Headquarters, Air Combat Command, United States Air Force (dated 19 December 2016), the 12512G-11 headset is the only model found to meet land based hearing protection standards developed for F-35 ground crew personnel performing in operational F-35 environments. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334290, with a small business size standard of 750 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations.
