- This is a Sources Sought Notice for Architect/Engineering services to replace IT cabling throughout the Hampton VAMC campus. Please respond if you have the ability and intent to complete this requirement. Include in your response a copy of your capabilities statement. This Sources Sought Notice is intended to locate Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB), Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSB), and Small Businesses. The anticipated NAICS Code for this requirement is 541310. This is not a Request for Quotation and quotes shall not be reviewed at this time. The Department of Veterans Affairs shall not be responsible for any costs incurred by the contractor as a result of this Sources Sought Notice. This notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to ultimately award a contract, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary; the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government. Minimum needs of the Government are as follows: The A/E design shall provide services for the Upgrade Fiber Optic Cabling Project at Hampton VA, Medical Center. The A/E shall design to replace the existing data distribution pathway and Security infrastructure in accordance with Government OIT standards and provide an improved data distribution and enhanced security infrastructure. The A/E design shall provide installation and testing of all improvements to the IT infrastructure. The A/E design shall provide all material in accordance with the VA OIT requirements. Design shall comply with VA guidelines and specifications; design manuals and specifications can be found at http://www.cfm.va.gov/TIL/. Design shall also meet all applicable codes and standards. The A/E design shall provide for a specific construction budget. Completed design shall result in a cost that is within the budget limitations. SERVICES REQUIRED: Architect/Engineering (A/E) Site investigation Security, Communication and Electrical Coordinate, conduct and document meetings (provide minutes to all participants) Construction drawings and specifications Third party construction estimates Construction period services Construction Final Inspection Conduct Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) in conjunction with VA Safety/Infection Control staff Recommended fiber type Single Mode fiber (SMF) outdoor (OSP) type for the underground fiber trunk line and indoor/outdoor (ISP/OSP) for the connection between splice points and the buildings. OSP Fiber ring topology Recommend the following in building termination method at main service entrance facility: Splice incoming ribbon cable to cable assembly - 24 or 48 strand riser or plenum rated jacket, raw on one end, break out to LC connectors on other. Lengths determined by location and layouts of MDF.
