End Item: M1A2 Abrams Tank Response Date: 10 Feb. 2020 Day������ Month������� Year 10��������� 2 (Feb.)���� 2020 Requirements Description: The Pulse Control Unit (PCU) interfaces with the other components of the Pulse Jet Air Cleaning System and manages the operation of nine pulse control valves which bleed air from the Pulse Jet Air Cleaner Accumulator; also, the PCU determines the valve control timing by monitoring the engine status and the level of flow restriction in the induction plenum.�� The Pulse Control Unit (PCU) assembly, also referred to as the electronic switch, interfaces with the other components of the Pulse Jet Air Cleaning System for the purpose of providing the lowest restriction level in the induction air flow system while minimizing the volume of pulse air utilized and the complexity of the Pulse Jet Air Cleaner System. The PCU controls the operation of nine pulse control valves which bleed air from the Pulse Jet Air Cleaner Accumulator. The PCU determines the valve control timing by monitoring the engine status and the level of flow restriction in the induction plenum. The Government does not possess the technical data package (TDP) that defines the procedures required to produce this Electronic Switch. Additionally, these sources sought notice is not for a developmental effort, but a 5 (five) year, Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract. This item is source controlled to GDLS, CAGE: 0HGX3. It is a critical item of the M1 Abrams electrical system and shall meet the requirements specific to its intended function in accordance with its Source Control Drawing.� A substitute item shall not be used without prior approval by TACOM.� It is imperative for the procuring activity to ensure, at the time of contract award, this product meets and demonstrates compliance to established performance, design, test, manufacture, and acceptance requirements as specified in spec� SC-X14426, including testing for compliance with EMI and EMR shielding and nuclear hardening. This product is a survivability item and it�s critical for the soldiers� safety.
